What do Gaana, Ola and Zomato have in common?

No prizes for getting this right though.
These leading brands and start-ups were all hacked in last 3 weeks and more importantly anyone with basic knowledge of Application and Network Security could have done that.
The security breach of these web and mobile applications does pose a serious question - How secure are the web and mobile applications these days? Let's first accept the fact that in the mad rush to get products out in the market many companies do compromise on Quality Assurance and Testing. For most of these internet firms, where time-to-market plays a vital role, quality assurance has often been an afterthought.
This is not the first time that data from a mobile app or a website was compromised. A study done in 2013 looked at 230 top apps from third-party sites outside of the Apple App Store and Google Pay marketplaces, including the top 100 paid apps on Android and iOS. Among the paid apps, the study found 92% of the iOS apps had been hacked, compared with 100% on the Go…

DevOps and the Future of QA

DevOps has been the talk of the town for some time now (although it’s been in existence for a while – per Gartner, almost 30% of Global 2000 companies use DevOps) and a lot has been said and written about it. From insane articles that almost killed QA ‘DevOps will Kill QA’ to QA pundits coming out to the rescue of testers saying that ‘QA will be an integral part of DevOps’, the Internet is full of information around DevOps and how it affects QA. Here is a quick look at what really DevOps is and what it means to QA folks.
In simple terms DevOps is a methodology where Software Developers (Dev) collaborate with IT (Ops) that involves automation of software delivery and infrastructure. A decade ago the responsibility of QA was to find the bug and document it and that was it. This was a more casual approach. Technology is the new Addiction.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to magic. – Arthur C. Clarke
What is Technology? Is it a helping hand for us? Or is it a substitute meant to replace us in future?
Technology according to us is a very vast term, where even a simple tool/machine like a hand fan is known to be a part of innovation and a big tool like Artificial Intelligence is also studied with equal relevance.

Technology or should we say ease of getting things done has become a part of our DNA. Today, a new born baby within few months, learns to operate an iPad or an iPhone. There used to be a time when young children used to learn how to operate a normal kid’s toy and probably failed at it.
It seems as if today’s generation has some sort of coding embedded in their DNA which enables them to start operating any gadget at an early age.
With advancement in technology, today almost everything is possible. Maximum of the things have been automated and with AI being develop…
